Almere has a rich and diverse community landscape. Across the city, community leaders, volunteers, organisers and local initiatives are creating places where people can meet, participate and feel connected. But too often, we are doing this work separately.

The Almere Communities Leaders Roundtable brings Dutch and international community leaders together to meet one another, exchange knowledge and build practical forms of collaboration.

We will explore how our communities can support each other through cross-promotion, shared calendars, joint events, useful contacts and access to spaces and resources. Participants will also be introduced to The HUB, a community and event space that can host meetings, workshops and activities organised by local groups.

The goal is not to merge our communities or remove their individual identities. It is to make it easier for us to work alongside one another, extend our collective reach and create a stronger, more connected Almere.

This will be an interactive evening. Every participant will have the opportunity to introduce their community, contribute ideas and help determine the next steps.

What do we want to achieve?

By the end of the evening, we aim to have:

• A clearer understanding of the communities active in Almere
• New connections between Dutch and international community leaders
• Initial agreements about cross-promotion and event coordination
• Concrete ideas for joint activities or community projects
• A practical way to remain connected after the roundtable
• Greater awareness of The HUB as a place where community initiatives can meet and grow

Together, we can reach more people, share what already exists and build a future in which more Almere residents feel seen, connected and able to participate.
