BELONG NL is building the province-wide ecosystem that makes it possible for internationals to feel settled. We started with a guide. We are building toward an app, a podcast, and a full network of support that reaches every corner of Flevoland. Belonging is not a programme, it’s a culture. And cultures are built together.
Why We Started
Diana Lerner Ketelaars arrived in Almere as an international herself. After years of working to integrate here, she started to ask the question, “What do I wish I had known from day one?”. The mission of BELONG NL that she created from that question is a city that is navigable for someone who is completely new. With the tools BELONG NL offers, internationals can start to settle from the first day, and create a more fulfilled life in their new surroundings.

We start with the foundation: practical information that explains your new surroundings in clear language and builds confidence. From there, we help internationals build connections to the city, community, and the right people who can help when you need it.
